Mohammed Al Qudwa

He  is a Palestinian writer, poet, and performance artist from Gaza City. His work emerges from lived experience and explores the body as a site of memory, time, and survival, engaging with themes of displacement, identity, and contemporary Palestinian reality.

He has facilitated creative writing workshops in collaboration with cultural institutions including the Tamer Institute for Community Education (Gaza) and the Arab Digital Expression Foundation (ADEF, Egypt). His artistic practice moves between writing, performance, and embodied research.

Mohammed has participated in international artistic residencies in France, including the SAWA SAWA artistic residency program initiated by the Institut français de Jérusalem, as well as the Jeunes ESTivants 2025 creative residency hosted by Passages Transfestival as part of the French national Été culturel initiative. His current performance project, Three Seasons and a Body, is developed through multiple artistic residencies and collaborations with European cultural institutions such as Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne, NEST – CDN Transfrontalier de Thionville-Grand Est, and Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde.

He is currently supported by the PAUSE Program, the French national program for artists and researchers in exile, and lives and works in France.

I took part in La Semaine des Écritures Contemporaines at Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne, an event dedicated to contemporary writing and performance, centered in its 2025 edition on the theme of desire.

As part of the opening of La Semaine des Écritures Contemporaines at Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne, drama students from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Dijon presented a staged reading of my texts on the main stage. This opening performance officially launched the week and highlighted my writing through collective interpretation, voice, and live musical accompaniment.
